Illustrator and author Marilyn Scott-Waters has a great-looking book of cut-and-fold paper toys. She also has an extensive set of PDFs on her website, The Toymaker, to download and use for free. These would be a lot of fun for kids over five or so to make themselves, and many of them, like the great magic wand above, are perfect for parents to make for younger kids - a quick and easy new toy to help turn a tough day around.
