About the Company
Gerber, which invented the baby food market in the 1920s (a product category far more popular in the United States than outside its borders), was sold by Swiss pharmaceutical giant Novartis to Swiss food giant Nestle in April 2007. It's a match made in heaven for the parent and child, both of whom have been taken to task on multiple occasions for their aggressive marketing methods of infant feeding products in Third-World countries [Gerber|Nestle].
Gerber is one of the few companies in the field to use latex in some nipples and pacifiers. Latex contains nitrosamines, which have been linked to health problems and latex allergies in young children.
