About the company: Playtex, best known for its feminine care products but also a manufacturer of suntan lotions, Wet Ones wipes, the Diaper Genie, and baby bottles and sippy cups, was purchased this year by Energizer Holdings.
Playtex is on the record as recently as February 2007 indicating its belief that polycarbonate plastics are completely safe. The company is also a member of the Coalition for Consumer Choice, a nebulous pro-BPA group.
