We will probably end up at the beach again sometime in the next month or two, and if we do, Z and her parents are going to have a blast with this toy. For now, an old Radio Flyer filled with sand will have to do.
Obviously, the "lake" is designed to be about three times the size as what we have room for, and Haba's "Medium" Water Park play set, which sells for about $48 on Amazon.com, contains six pieces of track, plus the dam segment, the lake, and a very weird sand and water trowel that was extremely intriguing to Z. The "Large" version, which will run you about $66, includes ten river segments, two dam segments, and a bucket with a spigot to store and dispense water.
I have a younger sister, and I remember spending countless summer hours as a child on our dilapidated brick patio, constructing "water slides" out of extra bricks, running water from a hose and sending our combined multitude of plastic Smurfs and Strawberry Shortcake figures coursing through their channels.
